The Kansas Shrine Bowl annually provides one of the best and most popular cheer clinics available in the state. It is professionally conducted with fun and safety as primary goals. The clinic also helps to raise funds for Shriners Hospitals for Children because they receive all proceeds of the clinic. Cheer  participants may be males or females in grades 8 through 12 with at least one  year of cheering experience. Participants may attend the clinic as a squad or as  individuals; with or without a sponsor or accompanying adults (adult supervision will be provided for groups and individuals without a sponsor or accompanying  adult.)
The clinic opens at 8:00 a.m. on the Thursday prior to the Kansas  Shrine Bowl game which is played on the last Saturday in July. The clinic  concludes at the end of the Shrine Bowl Game, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on  Saturday. During the clinic period all meals are provided. Housing is also  provided as double to quad occupancy in dormitory rooms.  Participant’s use of  private vehicles is discouraged.  They may drive private vehicles, but only to  the clinic and home following the game. During the clinic period, the keys to  all participants’ private vehicles on the premises must be checked in to the  clinic supervisors.
All participants are covered by the same, excess only,  accidental injury insurance policy that covers the Kansas Shrine Bowl players,  coaches, trainers, managers and band members. Claims will be submitted first to  the family insurance carrier and any unpaid amount on an accident claim can then  be presented to the Shrine Bowl insurance company.
At the clinic, the participants are  provided special Kansas Shrine Bowl All-Star Cheer Clinic shirts and upon  completion of the clinic they will be awarded a prestigious Certificate of Completion. Participants can bring their own shorts and tennis shoes to complete  the uniform. Special features  of the Kansas Shrine Bowl All-Star Cheer  Clinic may include:

  • Participation on the sidelines of the televised Kansas Shrine Bowl All-Star football game.
  • Guest appearances by a Shrine Hospital patient.
  • Professional training and instructions by collegiate spirit squad members.
  • Participation in the largest annual Shrine parade in Kansas.
  • Possible guest appearances by professional cheerleaders and yell-leaders such as the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fees for the cheer clinic may be paid by the individual, their family, or by scholarship from clubs and/or civic groups. Clinic fees may be paid in cash, by check, or credit card.  Fees are discounted for multiples from the same school, for sponsors and for accompanying adults and for early registration.
One sponsor or cheer coach free with 3 or more squad members.  Extra persons, i.e., sponsors/coaches, and sponsors/coaches with less than 3 participants: $100.00
(double occupancy) shirt, meals & room only; $120.00 (single occupancy) shirt, meals & room only.

Call 800-530-5524 or e-mail jmize@kansas.net, or ksshrine@kansas.net for additional  information; to make reservations; or to charge clinic fees to a major credit  card.
